STUDIO GARAGE

A homeowner is interested in transforming her underutilized garage into a guest studio for when her family comes to visit or to rent it out. After carefully considering her needs, I proposed a new floor plan with privacy and sun orientation in mind, suggested a visual style and materials, and provided sketched ideas for the kitchen area. The floor plan was made on SketchUp and the sketches were hand drawn.

Whether it’s furniture or materials, hand sketching is a quick way to get ideas on paper. This is especially important when collaborating with peers or meeting with clients, in order to effectively communicate design ideas. Here are some lamps, chairs, and materials that can be used in hand rendered drawings or added to computer drawings to loosen them up. All sketches were hand drawn.
